9th November 2003 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: E Wind Stength: 12-20 knots Surf / Sea State: Flat Air Temperature: 6ºC Sea Temperature: 12ºC Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: After a bonfire party last night I had a bit of a slow start, so didn't get onto the beach until about 8.30am. Shem soon turned up and we set up our kites. I then decided that it was too gusty for my kite, so while Shem sorted out a tangle in his lines I rigged my windsurfing kit. Sure enough once on the water it was indeed gusty. I got going a few times, but nothing special. Martin came out with his guerilla as well, and both Martin ans Shem were struggling with the gusty conditions. I'm juist glad I decided against using my kite as mine is much less well behaved than their more modern kites so I would have been all over the place with my kite. After a while I packed up and Mike and Chriss turned up and went out with their kites. Typically the wind seemed to stabilise a bit when they went out and they seemed to be doing OK as I left the beach. I had a quick go with Shem little foil as well, which is a pretty well behaved kite for such a small foil. |
